Intro
This guide is intended for new guild members, to help them find the bathroom and the water cooler.
First off: Welcome! We love getting new blood and we hope you'll feel at home with us.
We are a fairly laid-back bunch, and aside from what is outlined below we try to keep the rules and restrictions to a minimum -- this is a game after all, and we strive to keep it enjoyable for everyone. This isn't to say that we don't care about doing well, of course -- we definitely do, and we want you to advance and thrive along with us.
We prize community and effort over results. We don't care how much dmg you can put on the Tank. If we see that you're an active member of our guild we're happy campers, and we'll help you in any way we can. If you have questions or need anything, just ask one of the officers -- or anyone else, for that matter -- and we'll do our best to help!
We also won't give you grief over Raid Tickets produced (unless you literally bring in 0 of 600 every day even though you're always around), but obviously the better your contribution the more often we get to raid, so the more rewards YOU get! For more info on this, feel free to read this post which will tell you all you've never wanted to know about raid tickets
We do like to see you active and playing, but we won't give you grief over not being around when RL intrudes. The only thing we ask is that you let us know when you're gonna be away for more than a weekend (a 3-week vacation in Antarctica with no cell service, for example ). Simply tell an officer so we know what's going on. If we don't hear from you for a while or more AND have no idea if/when you're even coming back, we may be forced to boot you out to make room for more active players. But again: If you let us know in advance, we're totally fine with taking time off.
Discord Chat
Before we get to the raid-related stuff, note that we use Discord, a popular 3rd-party chat client (free to download and use) to facilitate communication with our members. As we all know the in-game chat is pretty terrible for manymany reasons, and using Discord allows us to better keep in touch with everyone. Please download the app ASAP on your device or computer of choice and get yourself a user id, then message one of the officers on Discord, whose usernames are:
...so we can add you to the guild's "General", "Announcements" and "TB/TW" chatrooms. Announcements always contains up-to-the-minute information about the guild's goings on, like raid start times (in your own timezone!) and such, and obviously the TB/TW channel is used for coordination in Territory Battles -- what Platoons should be ignored because we don't have enough toons in the guild to finish them, where to do final deployments, etc. as well as Territory War stuff.
Forum
You're reading this, so you've already found our guild forum We encourage you to post stuff here and comment as much as you'd like, and check it often for new info!
Territory Battles
We run Geo TBs exclusively.
As mentioned above, we have a dedicated Discord channel for Territory Battles. PLEASE CHECK THAT CHANNEL before hitting TB every day; the officers will update the information therein with the day's instructions within 15 minutes of every phase starting. Until we post this guidance, please don't do anything in TB. Once the instructions come out, make note of which platoons should be ignored (we keep an up-to-date list of everyone's toons so we know whether a platoon can be completed or not, and publish a list of those off-limits platoons when the phase starts), and to which territory to do final deployments. Note that we may switch deployment territories during the day in order to maximize our chances at more stars, so make sure to check before deploying.
In short: Always keep a close eye on the TB chat room and if you're unsure of what to do just ask in the Discord general chat or in-game and we'll be happy to help.
Territory Wars
Same goes for TW; our current strategy of choice is pinned to the channel so can always refer to it, and whatever additional instructions will be added as needed so keep an eye out!
Note that if you know you're not going to contribute to the War (i.e. have no intention of attacking or setting a reasonable defense) you should not join the war at all (TW is one of those rare game modes where this is more beneficial to the guild as a whole.) TL;DR: If you're gonna join, please participate -- otherwise please don't join.
Tank Takedown Raids
We run Heroic AAT raids exclusively as well.
We raid as tickets become available, which is roughly twice a week. Announcements are always made when the new raid is scheduled, but if you're unsure just ask an officer in-game or on Discord.
As far as Raid Rules, they are as follows:
1) Launch times will rotate between Noon, 3pm and 9pm Eastern Time
2) We have a 24-hour joining period before the raid starts.
3) Once the raid after 24 hours, you can send your entire roster in whichever phase or phases you'd like. Full solos of the tank have to wait 20 minutes after raid start to post.
4) The Tank Raid times will never conflict with Sith Raid.
Sith Triumvirate Raids
We run Heroic Sith raids exclusively as well. We raid as tickets become available, which is roughly twice a week. Announcements are always made when the new raid is scheduled, but if you're unsure just ask an officer in-game or on Discord. As far as Raid Rules, they are as follows:
1) Launch times will rotate between Noon, 3pm and 9pm Eastern Time like Tank, but as mentioned above both raids will never conflict.
2) 24-hour joining period like Tank.
3) After that 24-jour joining period, Free-For-All starts and you can send your entire roster in whichever phase or phases you'd like.
4) If you are clearing one or more phases, you cannot post until either: (1) 10 minutes after the phase you are soloing has been reached; OR (2) you've gotten the notification that the phase you are soloing has been completed (whichever comes first).
Examples: If you are soloing P1, you can post either 10 minutes after the raid has opened or once you see the P1 complete notification. If you are soloing P1 and P2, you can post either 10 minutes after P1 has been completed or once you see the P2 complete notification. If you are soloing the whole raid, wait until 10 minutes after P3 has completed.
Also, please use reason. So for example, if you're completing 90% of a phase, treat it like you're soloing the phase
5) Again, the best way to know when the next Sith will be is to check the Announcements Channel on Discord.
To make easier to spot raid announcements, we have create an #Raids Discord role which we tag when talking about them. Let an officer know if you want to be added to this tag to get the notifications more conspicuously.
That's about it. Welcome again, and happy gaming with us!
