With one Territory Battle under our belt, and our second about to land, here's a few things we've learned and a few things that we need to keep in mind going forward:
Things we've learned:
Things we need to keep in mind:
And of course, if you ever have any questions on this stuff, just ask!
Things we've learned:
- Coordination is even more important than we may have thought. We need solid coordination on platoons and deployment in order to maximize our resources. We need to make sure we don't waste critical characters on platoons we can't finish, and that deployments are done in a way that will maximize points.
- It is important that people participate in everything they can. Going 6/6 on two combat missions generates as many points as most of us can generate from deploying our forces. Even completing a single wave of a combat mission can generate a whole lot of points. So it is really important that everyone hit every mission that they can.
- On that note, undergeared characters can still complete some waves of missions. For example, in P6, I managed to complete one wave of the R1 mission with a g8/lv 70 Chirrut, a g7/lv 70 Jyn, and g7/lv 53 Cassian and K2. That's right -- no 5th.
- Platoons can be super-important to complete BEFORE doing combat missions. For example, the southern platoon in P3 affects both ground territories in P3 as well as ground territories in P4-5. In P6, all platoons affect various territories in P6.
Things we need to keep in mind:
- There are 24 hours for each phase -- we need to keep that in mind, and not rush to get everything done in the first 5 minutes. Completing the phase quickly doesn't change when the next phase comes.
- For platoons, there are some that we will not be able to complete -- they may require something we don't have like the Falcon; or they may require a lot of something we don't have many of, like 17 7* Lobots. When the phases change, we will examine the platoons and figure out what issues we have. As soon as we figure that out, we will post in the new TB channel. IF AN OFFICER POSTS THAT WE CANNOT COMPLETE A SPECIFIC PLATOON, PLEASE DO NOT ASSIGN ANY CHARACTERS THERE.
- Outside of P1, we will need to coordinate where forces are deployed. For that, we will often be switching deployments back and forth, before we've reached stars. Why? Because we want to maximize how many points we can get from the combat missions. Last time, in P2, we capped the northern territory before everyone had done the missions. That results in waste, which limits how many stars we can walk away with.
- To that end, the starting time is better -- 1 pm eastern time -- so for most of us, it ends in the middle of the day, instead of early in the morning. So what am I suggesting? That your individual plan of attack be: (1) give us 5-10 minutes to figure out impossible platoons; (2) fill platoon slots; (3) wait for platoons to be filled; (4) do all your missions -- special and combat; (5) wait some more; (6) check where to deploy; (7) deploy. IF, however, you are not sure you will be able to be around later in the phase, deploy based on whatever the current instructions are. Those will be posted (and updated) in both the TB channel and the in-game chat.
And of course, if you ever have any questions on this stuff, just ask!
