There's been a lot of confusion around TB platoons, which is unsurprising because they are very weird in how they work -- but it's crucial we get them right every day since they can make or break a lot of combat missions, and they directly affect the number of stars (read: nice G12 gear ) we end up with.

A few assertions about platoons:
WHAT THIS MEANS
Every day at rollover time several officers check every single platoon against our spreadsheet that contains a list of everyone's toons, to see which platoons can be completed and which can't (for example, no one in the guild currently has a 6* Paploo, so if a platoon has one of those we can't complete it). It's very important to not deploy anything to those "condemned" platoons for two reasons:
1- Toons wasted in a bad platoon would have been better used by deploying them to a finishable one instead, to maximize the number of complete platoons.
Completed platoons award bonus TB points, and much more importantly they award power-ups to upcoming combat missions -- and those power-ups (like the airstrike) often make the difference between getting 4/6 and 6/6 in a mission (read: even more TB Points, which means more stars, which means more loot!)
2- We don't get any credit for partially-finished platoons (other than the base GP value of the toon, which is negligible)
. So we need to ensure that every toon sacrificed to a platoon (as opposed to using it in a combat mission) is not wasted to an unfinishable platoon.
For example, someone might have a lvl1 g1 OG Han that would be perfect to drop in platoon X, but if it's wasted in condemned platoon Y someone else may have to sacrifice their g12 Han in platoon X to complete it just so the guild can benefit from the all-important power-up it gives -- except now by doing so that player can't use Han in a combat mission and may not complete 6/6 cuz they're missing a key toon.
Worse still: Some tons like Lobot are inexplicably popular
in platoons, and we only have a small number of them high-star ones available in the guild. If one is wasted to a condemned platoon, it almost always means that a finishable platoon will now go unfinished because we're now one 7* Lobot short or whatever.
TL;DR
We always make sure there are enough officers at phase rollover time to issue quick guidance, so you guys don't have to wait too long before you can jump in and assign to the right platoons.
But please DO wait -- it really does mean the difference between getting an extra star or not!
Hope this helped clarify things and wasn't too incoherent . As always, feel free to ask any of us questions; we're here to help!

A few assertions about platoons:
- A toon assigned to a platoon:
- DOES contribute its GP value to the total, just as if it was used in a combat mission or simply deployed along with the rest of your roster
- CANNOT be sent to any combat missions
- DOES contribute its GP value to the total, just as if it was used in a combat mission or simply deployed along with the rest of your roster
- A platoon:
- MUST be completed (15/15 toons assigned) in order to pay out its bonus TB points and give us power-ups (like the airstrike). Partially-filled platoons are useless and toons deployed therein are wasted
- Affects power-ups not only in the next day's combat missions, but some of them also affect today's missions as well, so waiting until all (finishable) platoons are finished before tackling combat missions may mean the difference between getting 4/6 and 6/6 on a mission.
