After our last attempt to take on the Heroic Tank Raid and gather those precious, precious Kenobi shards, we have adjusted our prior strategy, in order to try to maximize our chances of success. This strategy is based off of our previous efforts and our updated analysis of the rosters of each of the members of this guild. Having looked through the rosters of all of our members, we think that we have the firepower to beat this. That being said, as we learned last time, heroic is a whole different beast from (pre-nerf) normal, and the only way to find out if we are truly ready is to try! We certainly have more firepower than our last attempt and, at a minimum, will be able to learn exactly how close we are.
This strategy differs from the prior strategy in a few key respects:
1) Target scores have been reduced across the board, and individually assigned for each team in Phases 1 and 2. The target scores are based on a combination of the data we acquired in the last heroic attempt as well as a member-by-member review of rosters. Hopefully these targets are far more accurate than what was contained in the last strategy. They are certainly more conservative.
2) Instead of having multiple waves in the first two phases, the strategy utilizes Attackers and Reserves. Attackers go as soon as the raid is launched/phase is reached. Reserves wait until they are sent by an officer. Reserves may be sent in groups, or one at a time, depending on how close the Phase is to be completed.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THE PURPOSE OF THIS STRATEGY IS TO MAXIMIZE THE CHANCE THAT WE CAN COMPLETE HEROIC AND IS FOR THE GOOD OF THE ENTIRE GUILD. We don't like being controlling, and as you know, we generally don't tell people what to do. There are guilds out there that do that, but we're not one of them. However, based on the tuning of the heroic raid, we want to be as careful as possible for at least the first few completions, before we start farming it like the Rancor.
Keeping that in mind, there are a few rules that will be necessary to implement this:
1) Everyone is expected to abide by the strategy. If you have a Jedi team, but are not selected to attack Phase 1, please follow the strategy and send your team at Phase 2, 3, or 4, depending on when you are called on to do so. Spreading teams and damage across every phase is critical.
2) We have to avoid over-damage in Phases 1-3. As such, if you are designated to attack a phase, but there is less than 10% health in that phase, please contact an officer before making your attack. If you notice that a phase is under 10% and you haven't seen it posted (including if it is during your run [i.e, it starts at 12% and your attacks are taking it under]), please contact an officer immediately. You can do this by posting to the D-M-E Announcements channel on kik.
3) Try to make some time when you go to do your attack so you can retreat and try again if you get some bad RNG. For Phases 1 and 2, we've identified target goals for various teams -- try to get as close to, or above, that goal, and retreat if necessary to try again. While we understand that people have time constraints, it will help out immensely if you can carve out a small amount of time to try a couple of times if necessary.
4) Keep an eye out for announcements from officers. We will make all relevant announcements in both the in-game chat and on the D-M-E Announcements channel on kik. Of course, the way that in-game chat works, it's best to pay attention to the kik channel. If you are not a part of that channel, message any of the officers on kik (see the intro post for our kik IDs) and we'll make sure you get added.
5) Please let us know when you've completed your attack. You can post this in the General Chat channel on kik. We will be monitoring the phases/damage, but it's easier if you just give us a heads up that your attack is done. Once we get past Phase 1, it becomes harder to figure out. Even better, is posting a screenshot of your damage to the General Chat channel. This will let us see if there are things that need to get tweaked down the line and see how good our estimates are.
6) We intend to launch at 11 am EST on Saturday. If you have a team in Phase 1, please let us know in advance if you won't be around for some period of time around then.
7) If you have questions on team compositions, please ask. If you have questions on modding, please ask. If you think that a team composition is screwy and there's something more effective that you could do, please say something! This is not something set-in-stone -- it's just our best efforts at putting something together. Additionally, this is based on a review of your rosters on the 7th and 8th. If you improve characters between now and the 14th, and you think that could affect teams identified below, please let us know!
For each of the Phases, I've included links to videos showing common team comps, so you can see the strategies that are often employed. If you have a question regarding team comps or strategies, please just ask!
